TPCC 3rds v LITTLETON 2nds
New 3rd team skipper Nick Connell lost the toss and was asked to bowl first on a good looking batting track at Old Alresford .
Littleton openers Craig Falcingham and Steve Barrow set about the Parks opening bowlers and were looking really comfortable as their 50 partnership came up in the 12th over but a mistake by Falcingham saw him caught behind by Tom Lake who was making the step up from junior to senior cricket for the 1st time.
Barrow was joined at the crease by Farooq and together put on 37 runs until Derrick Bone had Farooq caught at square leg by Kieran Connell.
A quick flurry of wickets by Dave Deakes (3 for 37) had the park back in the game and with Barrow who had led a charmed life departed for 72 along with a quick fire 21 by former Parkie Mark Ingram saw the Littleton innings end on 201 for 8.
In reply Nick Connell and Kieran Connell got the Park of to a great start with a partnership of 64 with Nick 1st out for 25 .
Kieran was then joined by Derrick Bone and together added another 27 runs to the total with Kieran next out for a well hit 39.
Bone departed soon after for 13 but then a stand of 71 between Mark Wilks (38) and Josh Wilks ( 31) had the Park back in the game until Craig Falcingham (4 for 33) and Calum Carter ( 3 fir 44) wrapped the game up as the last 6 Park wickets fell for just 7 runs as Littleton ran out winners by 23 runs.
A good effort by the Park with the u15 players
Kieran Connell, Josh Wilks, Tom Lake and Alex Pulling leading the way with a special mention to Alex for taking his first ever senior wickets and figures of 2 for 10 of 4 overs.
Thanks to Tracey Bone for scoring and to Sue Wilks for an amazing tea.
